Starship Command 2X - Testing the Waters
So, with everything going on in the world (stay safe!) I pulled out some code I set aside a few months ago.
I found a new way to procedurally create images without relying on Windows. And in playing with it, I managed to make a more expansive hull generator and then extended it to make alien portraits.
Performance is better, my new methods allow me to do more with procedural creation and so on. So, I've decided to whip up a little empire generator to get some feedback.
Everything still needs work, some hulls have "floating" sections, alien eyes overlap, etc. But, I was wondering what the players think of these new styles.
So download it, have a spin, find some crazy things, and tell me what you think!

so 1 thing i think could change would be having the alien portrait skin textures being different from the their star ships
Thanks, that's actually on the to do! I just needed a texture to gets things rolling.
